Your wedding day, one of the most important days in your new life together.
How
will you be able to relive all those sights and sounds ?
Capture those priceless memories with a professional wedding
video from us.
Yes you can a friend or relative tape it for you - but the quality may not be there, moments missed and
they will not be able to enjoy their day concerned about "not missing anything".
With all of your time and
expense involved , your wedding video is the ideal way to relive all the sights and sounds from your wedding day and create
a "Priceless Family Heirloom" for Parents, Grandparents, Friends and Family from afar and Generations to
come...
The following is a list of suggestions that may assist you with selecting a professional
wedding videographer for your special day...
Remember... there are no "second chances".
1. What is their experience in the wedding industry ?
Do they have an established
reputation of quality, familiar with all aspects of wedding events.
There is nothing like your videographers considerable
experience to make the difference !
2. Is a Demo Video available ?
The
picture should be steady and bright, sound should be clear.
All events should be covered in detail that you are looking
for.
Short demo’s on web sites will look wonderful - but does not truly represent what a full length wedding video
will look like - from location camera angles, lighting, sound - all locations will look different !
We prefer to view
our demo wedding video personally with the Bride/Groom - allowing us the opportunity to fully present our services in detail
and learn about your interests/ideas. There may be a possibility that we may have a wedding video on file from your locations
so you can truly see the possibilities.
3. Reference
Letters ?
4.
Do they carry back-up equipment ?
5. What is the videographer’s attire ?
Remember your wedding team (Videographer,
Photographer and DJ) are also representing you and your family to your guests.
6.
Can they work as unobtrusively as possible ?
This is where extensive knowledge and experience about
wedding day events really helps.
Example: no bright lights at the church, work well with your Photographer, Clergy,
MC, etc.
7. Have a written contract (for everyone’s protection).
-
including guaranteed costs, exactly what services are (and are not) included and any additional fees that may occur (extra
editing , overtime at Reception, etc.)
- a deposit is usually required
8.
Editing Packages ?
- You should be receiving most, or all of your wedding video footage that was
recorded.
After all, you paid for it !
- Extras like Photo Montages, Wedding Animations, Titles, Recaps, Background
Music Soundtracks, etc. There may be extra fee’s or all inclusive.
9.
Travel ?
Some Wedding Videographers, Photographers and DJ services will travel but some will prefer
to the HRM area.
Depending on the distance to your wedding, they may need to stay overnight.
10. Book Early !
Due to the limited number of professional wedding video companies
in this area, and some only videotape a limited number per day, many are booked more than a year in advance. Try to book as
early as possible.
We only videotape 1 wedding per day and we are booked usually 1+ years in advance !
11. Price ? - Wedding Video’s don’t cost a lot - because they’re priceless !
This
is usually the #1 question.
"You get what you pay for" is a consideration here.
Prices are based on
a number of factors - from the company’s experience in the "wedding environment", professional quality of
video equipment, editing "features/extra’s", what specific events are being videotaped, and even the companies
personal approach to your interests.
As a general reference, Jaland Video Productions Ltd. rates are around $695. -
$1200. (mid market).
Our prduction style is "Documentary" meaning you dont see numerous "zoom in zom
out", "shaky cam" and "special cemera effects". Instead it is similair to watching a movie or televison
show. Simple and Entertaining.
There are companies that are less and more - gain depending on what level of services
you wish.
In conclusion, we highly recommend choosing a wedding video professional that meet your needs,
someone you feel comfortable with, that give you the peace of mind that your wedding day, suited your budget and will be preserved
the way you want.
I hope these suggestions will be of some assistance for you.
